Whether you've just acquired a new or used saw, or you're looking to maximize the performance of your current one, a thorough inspection and tune-up can make a big difference. You can follow these steps below, listed in order, to ensure your saw is in top shape:

  • Inspect the arbor and bearings:
  • Reduce the gear backlash
  • Ensure pulley alignment and belt condition
  • Calibrate blade-angle stops
  • Stabilize the base
  • Level and align tables and throat plate
  • Verify blade is perfectly aligned with the miter slot
  • Align the splitter/riving knife with the blade
  • Calibrate the rip fence and miter gauge
