Summary:
This video is about a sliding table saw hold-down jig featured in issue 96 of Shop Notes magazine. The jig uses a vertical feather board to keep pressure on a workpiece for consistent results when cutting rabbets. A push block lifts a catch, then when it contacts the feather board, it pushes the piece and the feather board on through. The secret to the jig is a pair of drawer slides that allow the top carriage of the jig to slide along a base attached to the RIP fence. The feather board can be adjusted in and out from the carriage as well as up and down to accept different thicknesses of work pieces. The jig can be easily removed by releasing the catch on each drawer slide and lifting the carriage off. You can get all the details about building this hold down jig in issue 96 of Shop Notes magazine.
